WiFi terms

These terms are for everyone who uses a WiFi that runs on Moon Connect. You agree to them when you get online.

Draft
This is a plain-English draft. A lawyer in the Philippines is checking it.

The short version

  • Use the WiFi fairly, and never for anything illegal.
  • You pay the owner directly. Refunds are handled by the owner.
  • We collect your device ID, session times, payments and any contact details you give. Never the websites you visit.
  • You get offers only if you say yes, with "Accept all & connect" or by choosing which ones. You can stop them at any time.

1.Who runs this WiFi

The WiFi is run by the business named on the WiFi page ("the owner"). Moon Connect, run by MOONNET LTD, a UK company (number 16661802), provides the WiFi page and the system behind it.

To get online, you agree to these terms.

2.Fair use

The WiFi is shared with other people. Please use it fairly. You must not:

  • use it for anything illegal, or to look at, share or download illegal content;
  • hack, attack or try to get into other devices or systems;
  • send spam or scams, or harass anyone;
  • try to get around payments or time limits.

If you break these rules, the owner or Moon may slow down or end your session, and block your device.

3.Sessions and time limits

A package gives you a set amount of time, such as ₱10 for 2 hours. Your time counts from when your session starts, whether or not you are using the internet.

Each package is for one device. Speed is shared with the other people online, so it is not guaranteed. The "How busy" meter is an estimate.

4.Paying

You pay the owner directly, by GCash or in cash. Moon never receives or holds your money.

Your time starts when the owner taps Accept. A screenshot does not unlock time. A request nobody answers closes after 45 minutes. If you paid, show the owner your code. They can still accept it.

5.Refunds

Refunds are handled by the owner, because the money went to them. Ask the owner first.

Moon cannot refund you, because Moon never had your money. If you think an owner is not being honest, tell us at [email protected].

6.What is collected

  • A device ID: a code that tells your phone apart from others on this WiFi.
  • Session times: when you connected, and for how long.
  • Payments: the package, the amount, how you paid and your 3-digit code. Never your GCash PIN or password.
  • Contact details you choose to give, such as your mobile number or email, or your name if you sign in with Facebook or Google.
  • Your choice about offers, and each change to it, with the time and the version of these terms.

The WiFi never records which websites you visit.

7.Why it is collected

  • To run the WiFi: to start and end your time, and to match your payment.
  • To stop abuse and keep the WiFi safe. The record of who connected and when is kept for 6 months.
  • To send you offers, ONLY if you said yes to them.

8.Your choice about offers

"Accept all & connect" means you agree to these terms, to offers from the owner, and to deals from Moon WiFi and partner shops.

"Connect without offers" means you agree to these terms only. You get online just the same.

"Choose" lets you say yes to one kind of offers and not the other.

Partner shops are local businesses that work with Moon WiFi, like food places and load shops. Moon WiFi sends their deals itself. They never get your details.

Nothing is ticked for you. Every choice, and every change, is saved with the time and the version of these terms. Your latest choice is the one that counts.

9.How to stop offers

Stopping offers is free and easy, and you can still use the WiFi. You can:

  • tap "Stop offers" on the WiFi page;
  • go to connect.moonwebsites.co.uk/stop, or tap the stop link in an offer;
  • reply STOP to any message;
  • ask the owner; or
  • write to Moon at [email protected].

Only you can switch offers on again, from your own phone on the WiFi page.

10.Your safety on shared WiFi

This is a shared network. Keep your device up to date and use secure websites (with https) for anything private. As far as the law allows, the owner and Moon are not responsible for loss caused by how you use the internet.

11.Changes and law

These terms may change. The version you agreed to is saved with your choice. These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines.

The privacy policy explains your data and your rights in more detail.
